General environment
The Sheiling Ringwood is situated on a 45-acre site encompassing open green spaces and mixed woodland forming breathing space between buildings and a therapeutic and peaceful setting. We are close to the market town of Ringwood in the New Forest yet only a few miles from the coast and wonderful beaches. We neighbour the towns of Poole and Bournemouth.
On site we have a large hall, gymnasium, heated indoor pool and therapy building. Around the estate there are a variety of indoor and outdoor teaching and leisure spaces including outdoor classroom and a green woodwork area, half-acre organic garden and sensory garden.
Residential accommodation is in large family-style homes, each with its own garden and open space. Older students live separately from those younger and use their own classrooms but share other facilities.
Aims and philosophy
A heart, head and hands approach to teaching and supporting students with a special educational need, our Steiner inspired school and college conducts modern best practice whilst respecting and developing every student’s sense of self.
Staff qualification and selection
The Sheiling Ringwood is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All staff are carefully selected in accordance with safer recruitment guidelines and will have a full DBS check. They will also hold appropriate qualifications for their job role.
