Wetheringsett Manor School
Special needs catered for
Wetheringsett Manor School provides specialist education for young people aged 11-18 years of age who have primary need of social, emotional and mental health needs.
Specialist facilities
We are fortunate to be able to offer spacious classrooms which are equipped with the latest EdTech, including laptops and interactive whiteboards. We also have the facilities to provide group or one-to-one sessions, as well as calming sage sensory areas.
Support services provided
We are able to offer students a wide range of therapy programmes to help those who are in need of support. Whether it be emotional or mental health support through to ongoing welfare programmes as required, the access to our extended team of highly skilled teaching and support staff includes educational psychologists and trained therapists. This means we can give each student the specific support they need.
Our team includes speech and language therapists who are available to work with our students to develop their communication and social skills. We are also lucky to have trained counsellors who can help students work through difficulties in their lives. Every student will also benefit from having a dedicated key worker who will work with them to mentor, inspire, advise and guide them throughout their time with us. They will also be the communication link between the school and home.
Our school makes sure that activities, therapy and counselling are easily accessible in the right surroundings to every student.
Home school links
The school will be setting up networking with all local colleges and will be in a position to offer work experience placements from Jan 2022.
General environment
Set in the picturesque village of Wetheringsett in Suffolk, our traditional manor house has expanded to include a modern classroom block with everything teachers and students could need.
Although parts of our site date back to circa 1843, the recent renovations have delivered a superb, high-specification education space to deliver effective modern-day teaching, with specialist classrooms and space for one to one sessions.
We also have extensive outdoor space, where children can enjoy the open air and creative learning such as forest school which is included in our curriculum.
Our students join our school with a wide range of social, emotional and mental health needs and our environment has been carefully designed to meet their individual learning requirements while ensuring they also feel safe, secure and cared for.
Aims and philosophy
We understand that every student is different, and we adapt education to meet each child’s needs. Regardless of the child’s level of ability, their programme of learning is designed to engage them in their love of learning.
We believe in delivering an exceptional education and to do this we’ve invested in creating an environment which inspires learning, which coupled with our professional teaching team, gives our students a first class start in life.
Staff qualification and selection
At Outcomes First Group we make a real commitment to training and developing our staff.
