Aims and philosophy
The vision of the European Therapeutic Education Group (ETEG) is to enable individuals with learning differences to achieve their aspirations and developmental potential, allowing them to lead an independent life.
ETEG achieve this by providing a 24-hour curriculum delivered by a team of professional therapeutic practitioners within a family-led living environment.
ETEG provides therapies and therapeutic activities tailored to engage the individual’s mind, soul and body ranging from academic skills, practical/hands-on skills through to everyday living/independent skills, all combined and taught in a holistic manner.
Starting with a wide ranging assessment of each student, ETEG identifies individual needs and creates a therapeutic/educational programme designed to develop the student’s abilities; support is also extended to families, carers and educators as part of this extensive programme.
Therapies and therapeutic activities are prescribed and supervised by a multi-disciplinary team which includes a psychiatrist, educational psychologist, school health practitioner, anthroposophical doctor and an anthroposophical therapeutic-education consultant.
