Multi-disciplinary team including psychiatrist, clinical and educational psychologists, family therapists, on a sessional basis. Complementary therapists including music, art and play.

Close contact with home is maintained through telephone, visits and regular home leave whenever possible.
General environment
The school is situated in a pleasant rural district of South West Lancashire, midway between Liverpool and Manchester and within easy access of National Motorway and rail links. There are excellent indoor and outdoor sporting and recreational facilities.
Aims and philosophy
The school provides a high quality integrated education, care and therapeutic environment where young people with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties are enabled to achieve their full potential. It aims to create a secure, orderly and caring community in which pupils are able to achieve both academically and personally, whilst developing respect and concern for others. To provide entitlement to a curriculum which promotes the spiritual, cultural, mental and physical development of its pupils’ increasing emotional well-being and appropriate peer and staff relationships. To prepare pupils for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of adult life.
Staff qualification and selection
The teaching staff are encouraged and expected to pursue programmes of advanced qualifications in Special Education for which financial support is granted. Both Residential and Social Work staff and teachers have access to the Training Department of the Nugent Care Society which is responsible for the implementation of the NVQ scheme throughout the School and its sister establishments. Productive and well established relationships exist with a number of universities throughout the UK and Overseas.
